Emergency Services

Health Care

Medical response is limited to very basic healthaid assistance in the community. Patients requiring any other treatment aretransferred to the clinic/medical facilities at Leaf Rapids.

Police

Police response is from the Leaf Rapids detachment,RCMP, phone (204) 473-2469, who have to fly or travel by boat or snowmobile tothe community.

Fire Protection

Firefighting capability is limited to forestry-style portable equipment. The communityhas an ATV and a small trailer to move the equipment about.

 

 

Infrastructure

Water supply

Water from Granville Lakeis pumped into the pumphouse, where it is chlorinated. Distribution is limited totwo standpipes, the nursing station and the community hall.

Electricity

Provided as enhanced diesel electric power. HydroOffice is located at Leaf Rapids.

Communications

Manitoba Telecom Services provides digitalsatellite telecommunication service to Granville Lake.

 Transportation

  • Gardewine North freight service to Granville Lake is by air from Thompson or road to Leaf Rapids.
  • Calm Air and other regional airlines will provide charter service from Thompson or Lynn Lake.

 Recreation

  • Community Hall, 1,200 sq. ft.
  • Outdoor Skating Rink with change area
